Karen grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Traveling with her dad on his sales routes, in the restaurant industry, she developed a love of helping others with their needs. After a few years of adventure in California, Karen traveled to Texas where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Texas A&M University. With this degree, she became a Med Tech in a private lab for 6 years. During this time Karen married Gary and started a family. This is where her love of real estate begins. Karen and Gary bought their first "fixer upper" in 1994. Karen quit the lab to tackle her home improvement project. She bought the Time Life Book series of home improvement in order to tackle this massive renovation. Every couple of years since 1994, Karen has bought and renovated homes. This journey took her from Texas to Colorado, Missouri and now Florida. Karen has lived in Volusia County for 16 years and knows the market well. When not spending time with Real Estate, Karen enjoys cooking, reading, playing with her 2 Goldendoodles and spending time with her family.
