Russell's life and career journey is quite remarkable. He was born in Miami, Florida, but moved to Tampa at a young age. During his summers, he gained valuable work experience by helping out on his grandfather's farm in rural North Carolina, starting with picking and packaging blueberries at just 4 years old. This early exposure to hard work instilled in him the belief that you reap what you sow in life.

In 1988, Russell entered the real estate industry, specifically working for various financial institutions in the extended Tampa Bay area. His primary responsibility was handling their real estate-owned (REO) portfolios, a role that became crucial after the Savings and Loan crisis.

Recognizing the importance of property valuation, Russell decided to attend appraisal school. This allowed him to provide his clients with accurate valuations for their property portfolios as they prepared to dispose of their assets.

In 1997, Russell transitioned into real estate sales, becoming a consultant in the field. His extensive experience encompassed a variety of property types, including cell tower acquisitions, land, warehouses, and light office spaces. This diverse background made him a highly respected consultant with strong valuation skills.

Realizing that he could further assist his clients by representing their best interests in transactions, Russell pursued the prestigious MCNE (Master Certified Negotiation Expert) certification. He was among the first professionals in the Tampa Bay area to achieve this certification, demonstrating his commitment to providing top-notch negotiation services.

Never one to stop learning, Russell expanded his knowledge and expertise by taking courses at Harvard Executive Business School, focusing on negotiation techniques. This additional education strengthened his ability to assist clients in complex real estate negotiations.

Throughout his career, Russell witnessed and navigated various market fluctuations, from the Savings & Loan crisis to the recessions in the 90s and early 2000s, and the significant correction in 2008. His passion for studying economics and its correlation with the real estate industry enabled him to offer the best possible advice to his clients, helping them make informed decisions in a constantly changing market.
